Just learn to relax

just learn to relax

Your week is packed with appointments and you’re busy ticking off your to-do list. You skillfully bring everything under one roof – you just didn’t think about relaxing. Your body is already reporting symptoms such as tiredness, pain or insomnia, maybe you also feel an inner restlessness, being agitated or thinking circles and you just can’t calm down. How can you learn to relax easily?

What makes you relax?

One thing in advance: There is no patent recipe for the right relaxation in between. What is good for you and lets you relax is individual. Ask yourself, how can I relax now and listen to you and your body. I will give you suggestions and inspiration from which you can then choose what is right for you.

Tips on how to learn to relax

A few tips are described below which you can conder while going forward to learn to relax:-

Tip #1: Breath deeply and consciously

Breathe deeply and consciously into your stomach and out through your nose several times. Breathe calmly and slowly. Feel your stomach expand as you breathe in and contract as you breathe out. To reinforce the relaxation impulse, think or say “I AM” as you inhale and “RELAXED” as you exhale. Repeat this a few times. It is particularly good to go outside into the countryside for this exercise and take some deep breaths there.

What I like most about this exercise is that you can do it anytime, anywhere, and it’s so easy. We need practically nothing but our breath and we always carry it with us.

Tip #2: Choose other thoughts

The following exercise is also wonderful because it is so easy to practice:

If you’re in the office, you can put down your pen and pause for a few minutes. Here too, please take a deep breath first – see above, that never hurts  – and then ask yourself:

  • What am I grateful for in my life?
  • What am I proud of?
  • What did I do well today?

It is best to write down your answers. If we put something down in writing, the whole thing sticks in our minds much better.

This exercise will help you get out of your merry-go-round and look at yourself and your situation from a different perspective. We are often caught up in our everyday issues. Your thoughts may sometimes resemble a ball of yarn, so it helps to consciously pause to be able to think clearly again.

Tip No. 3: Consciously perceive what is

Take a conscious moment for this and make yourself as comfortable as possible. And then take a very conscious look at yourself and your situation, which may be challenging you right now. What thoughts come up? What feelings can you perceive? Give everything space and just let it be there without judgment. Just be with whatever comes your way for a few minutes. And then take a deep breath and come back into your full presence.

Everyone can learn to relax

You’ve seen that it doesn’t take much to relax. And everyone can learn to relax. These three exercises can be easily integrated into everyday life. It doesn’t matter whether you’re sitting at your desk or on the go.

I am happy if these exercises do you good and help you to relax.
